Overview

Mughal Energy Limited is seeking a highly experienced, technically strong and result-oriented professional for the position of Manager – Operations at its 36.5 MW coal-fired power plant near Lahore. This is a full-time, plant-based position in the power generation and energy industry, reporting to the Plant Manager.

The role will lead plant operations to support safe, reliable, efficient and continuous power generation while promoting performance, operational excellence and a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day operations of the Boiler, Steam Turbine/Generator and Balance of Plant to ensure safe, stable and efficient plant performance.
Monitor and control plant parameters using SUPCON DCS/SCADA systems, respond promptly to abnormalities and optimize operations.
Ensure efficient execution of start-up, shutdown, synchronization, load management and emergency operating procedures.
Monitor plant performance, availability, efficiency, heat rate, auxiliary consumption and fuel optimization.
Lead, coach and develop the Operations team, including Shift Engineers and Control Room Operators.
Coordinate with Maintenance, I&C, Electrical, Mechanical, HSE, Fuel Handling and Water Treatment teams for reliable operations.
Ensure compliance with SOPs, PTW, isolation procedures and all HSE and operational standards.
Investigate incidents, lead RCA, implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate operational reporting, logbooks, records and management information.

Requirements

Education

B.E / B.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical or Power Engineering from an HEC-recognized university.

Experience

10–15 years of relevant experience in power plant operations, preferably in coal-fired thermal power plants.
Strong hands-on experience in Boiler, Steam Turbine/Generator and Balance of Plant operations.
Experience with SUPCON DCS/SCADA systems will be highly preferred.
Experience in Pulverized Coal (PC) Boiler operations, start-up/shutdown, troubleshooting and emergency response will be an advantage.
Previous experience in a Manager, Deputy Manager or Operations in-charge role will be preferred.
